Selling online these days is much more than just a technical exercise.
So in order to do well, you will need to work with much more than just a developer.
Success in ecommerce requires more than a one-time redesign and an occasional marketing campaign. You need to regularly analyse your orders and visitors and quickly respond with the right technical solution to any issues or opportunities that present themselves.
You effectively need someone in-house with an in-depth understanding of the market pressures facing your business, combined with the skills to develop attractive and effective designs and features for your web sites.
This is where Random River comes in.
If you are an online business who is looking for an ongoing partnership with an agency who can help take your business to the next level, you are in the right place.
At Random River we will work closely with you at every stage to create the right approach to help you to achieve all your goals. Rather than just selling you a solution out of the box, we will work with you collaboratively to develop the perfect online presence.
For the last six years Random River has been designing and building state of the art ecommerce sites for a range of business from comic shops to health food suppliers to legal outfitters. During that time he has gained an insight into what online businesses need to do to have the best chance of success online.
Chris can help you understand and segment your customers in order to promote to them effectively. Not only that, but he can also write marketing and promotional copy for you that will communicate your products and services clearly, both to your customers and also to search engines.
The level of partnership is up to you – it could just be one day a month of sales analysis and site changes, or it could be regular ongoing design support. Random River can become your company’s online marketing and ecommerce department whenever you need it.

Before starting Random River, Chris worked for ten years as a product manager with Actinic Software (now known as SellerDeck) the UK’s market leading ecommerce software supplier. During that time Chris became the company’s design ‘guru’ – creating themes and web interfaces for Actinic’s range of software packages and also creating online sites for prestigious companies such as the Royal Opera House, the Royal Albert Hall and Hasbro.
As well as creating designs, Chris has helped thousands of Actinic users to solve their design questions, and has also run many training courses aimed at helping store owners and web designers to create and run succesful online businesses.
With Random River, Chris’s aim is to use his knowledge and experience in design, ecommerce and online marketing to help small businesses to succeed on the internet, whether they just want a small online presence or a fully functional online shop.
